But What Does It All Mean?? The Semantic Web & Metadata
Thinking about the Semantic Web is a lot like looking at a double rainbow all the way across the sky… what does it mean?? As I’m sure we’ve all recognized, the Internet is bursting at the seams with information. Some information comes in the form of human-readable content, sometimes it’s computer-readable data. The problem, though, is that tons of data on the internet isn’t nearly as useful because a computer cannot understand how it’s all interrelated.
The Semantic Web is an idea set to bring a higher level of semantics to the internet. The concept is all about structuring data to be both human-readable and machine-readable.
The Epic Journey of Design
One of my favorite hobbies is designing board games. Since I was about 11 years old, I’ve spent much of my free time thinking about new and interesting board games.
Seem strange? Actually, designing board games is not much different than other design activities. In this article, I’ll talk about how embarking on the journey of design is a wonderful way to spend your time.

Top 8 Reasons to love a Good Discussion
If you’ve ever met me, you know that I love a good discussion. If you haven’t met me (and want to…), then go buy me a cup of coffee and get ready to talk. Because we will talk…
And don’t try to fake me out with your internet forums or your email chains. I’ll take my face-to-face interaction, thank you. You can have your texting, give me the ol’ analog dialog.
You know what? I think discussions are so awesome that they deserve capital letters for this post. So here you go: the top 8 reasons that I love a Good Discussion.
Getting Excited About Things
Many years ago, I started something like this blog. I had begun to learn a lot about the world around me that I wanted a place where I could write about it. That child-like wonder led me to begin writing long, detailed articles about cool (often Computer Science-related) things that I was learning about. I had high hopes for this site as being one of the most interesting sites on the web for cool facts and neat concepts.
Then I found Wikipedia and my heart sank. Who knew that millions of people editing a website 24 hours a day would be able to put out more information than my measly website? Defeated, I hung up my spurs. I almost came back to my writing, then a little thing called “grad school” crept into my life and sucked every ounce of energy I once had for writing about cool and interesting things.
