Hobbes was the name of our source language.
Yes, it's an overused pun on the name
of our college, but it's funny nonetheless.
I spent the spring of my junior year of college studying compilers. Professor Frens and I studied how to teach a compiler course in a 15 day winter-term class by changing the development process. We got a paper and a presentation out of it, so I'd say it was a success!
I've only got one article on this topic, but you can also check out our publication:
- Why Should I Care About Compilers?
An introduction to compilers for the general audience as well as a few scattered thoughts on why I think they're cool. - Our SIGCSE 2006 paper based on this research. ACM Reference
